Warner Bros. reveal 10 New Comic Book movies to rival Marvel
If you don’t enjoy comic book movies, and thought that the trend of these movies would die out soon, then think again as many more will be released in the coming years.
Warner Bros. have released information about their schedule for the next 6 years with as many as ten comic book movies hitting the big screen.
Marvel have have had all of the limelight in recent years with massive hits such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers and not to mention the X-Men and Wolverine franchises. While DC Comics have had success with The Dark Knight and Man of Steel, they have come to the party late and many people had been wondering what their answer was to Marvel’s dominance.
And now we know.
It seems like they have been planning for a few years to get these movies into production and I am sure they were waiting to see how Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy would fare, since it isn’t a series many people would have heard of. It seems since the Galaxy movie was a huge success, DC have faith in the ‘lesser known’ characters to do well enough and hopefully exceed their expectations. Also this list doesn’t even include solo outings for more Batman and Superman yet, so we have more than this ten to look forward too I believe.
Now onto the list.

Batman v. Superman – Dawn of Justice
While we all knew this was happening, but it’s still going to be exciting. I can see this movie being the one that will shape how the rest of the other movies will be approached. Marvel have interwoven characters into different movies and television shows, and while not all of the DC movies will interlace, it will be interesting to see how they guide these movies over the next 6 years. Do they take a different approach to the rest of the movies if Batman v Superman flops, compared to if it succeeds? Will some of these films not make the light of day?

Suicide Squad is about a team of supervillains recruited to take on suicide black-ops missions in return for the commutation of their sentences.
No details about what characters will be in the Suicide Squad yet, but possible characters could be Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy (seen in Batman), Deathstroke and Deadshot (both seen in TV show Arrow) and possibly Oracle and Nightshade. There have been many different characters throughout the comics, so who could be in it, will be anyone’s guess.

An Amazon princess comes to the world of Man to become the greatest of the female superheroes.
Gal Gadot is the actress to be the face of one of the most iconic characters of all time, Wonder Woman.
She will first appear in Batman v Superman before going out on her own with a feature film.

Justice League: Part One
So this is the movie to that everyone will compare to The Avengers. Although there will be already two Avengers movies out by this time, and who knows, maybe a third.
While no characters are confirmed yet, you can be assured since Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and Aquaman will be appearing the Batman v Superman movie, they will be in the Justice League. Other characters could be the Flash and Green Lantern, but only time will tell.
Ben Affleck will return as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and although Ray Fisher will play Cyborg and Ezra Miller, The Flash these characters have not been confirmed.

Although Ezra Miller (Perks of Being a Wallflower) has signed on to the Flash, No-one is actually sure if he will be playing the lead, Barry Allen. It is just assumed he will be.
There is already a TV show The Flash airing at the moment starring Grant Gustin, so we can see there will be no correlation between the television show and the movie. We are unsure aswell to whether The Flash will appear in Dawn of Justice or Justice League first before tackling his own movie, or if this is a reboot or origin story.

It’s the character in the comic book universe that is never taken really seriously, but you can bet your bottom dollar that DC and Warner Bros. are serious about him. They have signed Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) to play Aquaman, and if you’ve seen Game of Thrones, you know he is a beast of a man, and you can be sure it’s going to be epic. No other details have come at this stage, and only time will tell if it will be a success.
Again, not many people would be familiar with the character Shazam, but in 2019 I think we all will be. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has signed on to play the villain Black Adam and Bill Birch, Darren Lemke and Geoff Johns have been signed to penn the script.
Shazam is about a boy who is given the ability to become an adult superhero in times of need with a single magic word.

Justice League: Part Two
Zach Snyder will be directing the second installment of the franchise aswell as the first. This movie will all depend on how well the other movies perform to see the light of day, but I’m sure it has a good chance of making it to the theaters.
April 3rd, 2020
Ray Fisher has already signed on to play the lead Cyborg. He will be introduced in Batman v Superman and playing a part in both Justice League movies and you can tell this will be an origin story. This would have to be the biggest surprise of all the movies and it’s too far away to tell how this will turn out.

The Green Lantern
Ryan Reynolds was Hal Jordon in 2011’s attempt at The Green Lantern that bombed and was taken apart by critics everywhere. The only way is up for the struggling franchise and that’s what Warner Bros. is hoping for as a decade would have passed when this movie will come out. You would think that is enough time for the franchise to be forgotten and rebooted to hopefully forgiving fans and newcomers. Again, no word about any casting or writers at this stage and we may not have any for a year or two.
So there you have it. 10 movies in 6 years from DC Comics and Warner Bros. Are you eager to see any? Is there any character you feel should be getting their own chance at the limelight?
