CANCELLED – Garfunkel & Oates – Season 1

The comedy duo’s first season on TV will be it’s last.

IFC have cancelled their comedy Garfunkel & Oates after one season.

Ratings were very low for the folk singing duo’s first foray into TV. The comedy only averaged 140,000 over the course of it’s single season. The series was directed by Fred Savage.

Garfunkel & Oates revolves around the personal and professional lives of a pair of female comedy-folk singers as they try to make it in Hollywood. Real life duo Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci star.

The first and only season ran for eight episodes.

  1. Thanks for the reply. Yes it is a shame. I loved the show. Like yourself, I thought it was quirky and I honestly didn’t know what to expect from one moment to the next. I think another season would have served them well, but I am glad that we got to see them at least.

  2. I feel weird liking posts with bad news… I don’t like the news, but it was well-delivered. I was sad to hear this last week. It was a quirky show that probably needed more time to breathe and evolve than a typical TV show will ever get. At least they will still be around in other forms!
