10 New Shows To Check Out This October!
There are ten new shows premiering in October and we thought we would take a look at them and see what they’re all about.
October 1st – Benders – IFC
Follows a team of friends bonded by an irrational obsession with their men’s hockey team, The Chubbys. While their hockey skills may be limited, their passion is not, as shown by the chaos of their devotion to the game created in their everyday lives.

A frustrated doctor juggles his career, marriage, and family.

October 10th – The Last Kingdom – BBC America
The Last Kingdom is an adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s Saxon Stories. The books follow Uhtred of Bebbanburg from a boy taken from his birthright and raised by Vikings, later fighting for King Alfred the Great and his son Edward. Shield walls, blood, revenge and the forging of many Kingdoms into one nation, a dream of Alfred’s called England.

October 16th – Truth Be Told – NBC
The series revolves around two diverse couples, who are best friends and neighbors. They share their observations about the world around them. The show centers around Mitch, a college ethics professor who is determined to change the part of the world he lives in today. Alongside Mitch is his wife of five years, Tracy, who is also an attorney and loving mom to their four-year-old daughter, Sadie. Right next door is Mitch’s best friend, Russell, a stand-up comedian and often Mitch’s voice of reason, and Russell’s new wife Angie, who always keeps him in check. The show is loosely based on the life of creator and executive producer DJ Nash.

October 19th – Crazy Ex-Girlfriend – The CW
A young woman abandons a choice job at a law firm and her life in New York in an attempt to find love in the unlikely locale of West Covina, California.

October 21st – RocketJump: The Show – Hulu
Fresh off the Season 3 success of RocketJump’s YouTube series Video Game High School, the new Hulu original will expand upon the global success of Freddie Wong and RocketJump’s short films. Each half-hour episode of the series will chronicle the filmmaking behind RocketJump’s newest short. The eight full episodes will be released exclusively on Hulu on a weekly basis and the newly-created shorts will premiere exclusively on Hulu as well.
