CANCELLED – Defiance – Season 3

Syfy have cancelled their drama Defiance after three seasons.

After struggling in the ratings, dropping nearly 28% from season two, the network have decided they have had enough.

The series only averaged 1.13 million viewers compared to 1.56 million from season two.

Despite Defiance being Syfy’s most watched series this year, it was clearly a financial decision to not continue with producing more episodes.

Defiance ran for a total of 38 episodes over 3 seasons.

Defiance takes place in the year 2047 — some 30 years after various alien races arrived on Earth. The town of Defiance (what used to be St. Louis) stands as an example of how humans and aliens can live harmoniously (mostly) together. The cast includes Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Jaime Murray, Tony Curran, Graham Greene, Jesse Rath, Trenna Keating, Anna Hopkins, Nicole Munoz, Lee Tergesen, Conrad Coates, and Nichole Galicia.
