CANCELLED – The Bastard Executioner – Season 1

FX have cancelled their new series The Bastard Executioner after one season on the air.

Poor ratings plagued the series from Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter.

The series premiered to 2.11 million viewers but the ratings dropped significantly and the finale viewership dropped to 867,000.

The average for the first season was 1.22 million viewers, and the ratings were just not good enough for the series to keep going ahead.

The series ran for 10 episodes.

A medieval drama set in 14th century Wales, The Bastard Executioner follows Wilkin Brattle (Lee Jones). He was a Knight during King Edward the First’s reign and is a deeply spiritual man. He wants to settle down and live the quiet life of a farmer but it’s not to be. The rest of the cast includes Stephen Moyer, Matthieu Charneau, Katey Sagal, Flora Spencer-Longhurst, Kurt Sutter, Sam Spruell, Darren Evans, Danny Sapani, Timothy V. Murphy, Sarah White, Sarah Sweeny, Ethan Griffiths, and Ross O’Hennessy.
