RENEWED – Wayward Pines – Season 2

FOX have renewed their drama series Wayward Pines for a second season.

Many thought the series was cancelled when FOX were promoting the season final as the “series finale”. However it seems the network may have mislabeled the finale as they have brought it back for more episodes.

It’s not really a surprise when you have a look at their ratings as it was the #1 rated broadcast drama series among adults 18-49, where it drew in 3.82 million viewers over the course of it’s first season of 10 episodes.

The series was initially meant to run for one season of 10 episodes, as it is based on the trilogy of books from Blake Crouch.

Season Two will pick up where the season one finale ended.

The second season was renewed for 10 more episodes.

The shows creator Chad Hodge will not be returning for season 2 as he is tied up in another project. The showrunner will be Mark Friedman.

On Wayward Pines, Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) drives to the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, in search of two missing federal agents. One was a former partner and they once had an affair. A truck slams into his car, he wakes up in the local hospital, and things start to get really strange. The cast of this thriller series also includes Terrance Howard, Melissa Leo, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Shannyn Sossamon, Charlie Tahan, Reed Diamond, Juliette Lewis, and Tim Griffin.
